COMMUNITY

ABC AND THEIR COMMUNITY

Respecting the environment and the communities we work in is a central part of ABC’s working mission. For a century we have been removing old metal structures and debris to be recycled. It’s all a part of our commitment to live in a healthy and sustainable community. After all, we are as concerned as you about leaving a thriving green planet for our children and future generations. And that’s not just something we say, it’s something we support all year long.

GIVING BACK

ABC is proud to give back to our community by donating money to local hospitals, participating in TD’s Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-up and volunteering at our local Food Bank. Our Volunteer Committee organizes ways to give back and our employees sign up to show they care. Over the last four years, our charity of choice United Way received $89,000 in donations. Whatever our employees give, ABC matches the donation dollar for dollar. Annually, ABC Recycling gives over $100,000 in donations.

Another one of our charities of choice is The Burnaby Hospital Foundation. We have contributed to their "Because Life Can't Wait"
MRI campaign. We have donated funds to purchase a much needed Bladder Scanner at the hospital.

SCHOOL TOURS

All year long ABC invites local schools to come and tour our facility. We custom design tours to match the age of the visitors and their curriculum needs.
