Recycling is proud to be actively involved in helping the estimated two million
Canadians that have, or are at risk for developing chronic kidney disease.
ABC Recycling’s customers can now contribute to The Kidney Foundation of Canada by directing some or all of the payment for their scrap metal to the good work of the foundation.
Conceived by ABC Recycling, and launched in partnership with the foundation in 2010, Kidney Metals is proving to be an appealing program to many of our existing customers.In its first full year of operation, Kidney Metals raised more than $240000. Included in this is a commitment of $600,000 over three years donated by CN from the proceeds of recycled railcars. CN’s donation has been directed to See Kidney Disease (SeeKD), Canada’s first national targeted screening program to support early identification and prevention of chronic kidney disease in communities across the country.
