I’m now entering my fifth year with ABC Recycling, and I can safety say it is the most stimulating job and environment I have experienced in my almost thirty-year career as an accountant. Working with ABC was definitely a eye-opening experience, especially as a young worker where all the adults around your life tell you how bad their workplaces are. It makes you expect this giant scary place where everyone is out to get you, it was actually quite the opposite. I was told right off the bat that everyone makes mistakes and I am not expected to be perfect either, and that it is okay to make mistakes as it what we learn from. The day I knew this was definitely the company I wanted to work for was when I was still on probation, and the CEO asked if he could grab a bottle of water from the stash of water we had, I found that so inspiring and was surprised by the humbleness since movies show that the CEO is always this obnoxious figure that is always shouting at people, that day I also realized that there is actual respect in the workplace. As someone with a little to no experience dealing with a large amount of customers on a daily basis, I had no idea where to start but I loved the fact that my senior management let me find my own style of dealing with them, which combined with a lot of encouragement and feedback got me the "Exceptional Customer Service Award" for 2023 which I would have never thought especially since I only started in summer 2022, and at the end of the day I can definitely appreciate the fact that I walk in with a smile and leave with one as well

Working at ABC Recycling has been highly rewarding in growing myself as not only a manager but as a leader as well. I started working for ABC in 2013 as an Operations Manager where I was tasked with running the day to operations of the yard. Since then I have been given the tools and training to become the General Manager of the Branch in charge of everything from manpower to logistics to purchasing and selling as well as a leader and friend to my crew.

My name is Maruf Gebeyohu. I have worked in the Abc Recycling Company as a shear operator for 22 years. Abc Recycling treats you as one big family where all the workers are cooperative and respectful. They showed me to help out people when you see them struggling or in need of help. The company is always on top when I have a situation and they always work it through with me. Sometimes I go out of town to work with the same company in different areas and help them with my experience that I take where I originally work , which is in Burnaby, British Columbia. I have been working in this company since 2 years and I am proudly commenting that ABC Recycling Company has been a bright, challenging and best opportunistic journey of my life. In the fantastic journey from working as a labour till warehouse supervisor, I learned plethora of techniques and skills through experience and opportunities I received through this marvelous company.
